It's that time of year again! its time to bring in the new year-with style of course! I have a great new years look that you can easily and unexpensively do.

For the dress: A simple lacey black dress with a sweetheart neckline to give you just the right amount of clevage (you can also pair these with black tights if you didnt want to show too much skin)

Accessories: Lets keep them simple and sparkly (www.lechateau.com)

Hair: Softs volumious sexy curls. You can put half your hair up to dress it up more.

Makeup: A deep purple smokey eye with a light coloured lip gloss.

Catwalk Your Highness Root Boost Spray

This is a volumizing root boosting spray. It comes out in mousse type spray without the major foam. It also has a nice fresh scent.

Apply to the roots of your hair before blow drying. For best results, Section off parts of hair and spray onto roots.

This product works best when teasing the hair as well. You will notice a difference in volume without teasing but I find you don't get the same effect.

I purchased this product at a local salon called Chatters for around $20. It's a pretty big bottle so the price is average for a salon product. you can also purchase this product online at http://www.spaboutique.ca/

I would rate this product 8/10 because you do see results.

Osis+ Dust It Mattifying Powder

This is a volumizing powder that gives your hair mega volume!

All you have to do is dust a little bit of the powder where you want to add volume. You only need to add a little bit because it's very effective and might I add kinda pricey.
After dusting the powder rub it in with your fingers and voila!

I recommend adding it under the top layer of your hair. For example: if you are styling your hair with a part, just lift up a small section and dust. You want to put it under that top layer because once rubbing the powder in it can look a little "knotty" and layering it gives it a nice clean look. You can also tease your hair before or after adding the powder to give you even more volume!

I purchased this product at a local salon called Chatters for around $20. It is quite expensive for this small bottle but it lasts a really long time because you only need to use a little bit at a time. You can also purchase this product online at http://www.beautybay.com/

The only down side about this product that i found is it can leave some residue in your hair. Make sure to really scrub your scalp when shampooing. A clarifying shampoo would help too.
I would rate this product 10/10 because it gives my long, straight hair some much needed volume!
